MESQUITE, Texas – The 2023-2024 MASL season is certainly shaping up to be an exciting one.

Last week, Texas Outlaws Assistant Coach, Nick Stavrou, and Texas Outlaws General Manager, Brad Namdar, attended the MASL Combine and Draft in Utica, New York.

Over 160 indoor soccer players from across the globe participated in various exhibition matches and training sessions for over 3 days, while also being evaluated in each session by professional indoor soccer coaches, GMs, team owners, and scouts.

“This was my first combine and draft,” said Texas Outlaws GM, Brad Namdar, “I can’t tell you how thankful I am to the club, the league, and to all the teams, coaches, owners, players, and everyone involved in making this a fantastic event for the teams and for the players.”

Texas Outlaws Assistant Coach Nick Stavrou spent two grueling days evaluating, training, coaching, and working with countless players participating in the draft and working together with the club’s GM, Brad Namdar, on-site to ensure that the Outlaws would have a successful draft day.

Assistant Coach, Nick Stavrou stated, “The MASL draft is always a great experience for players to experience what it’s like to be coached by professional indoor soccer coaches, and it is always a great opportunity for coaches to evaluate the players in a more hands-on approach.”

At the draft, both Coach Nick and Namdar were in constant contact with the Outlaws Coaching Staff and Front Office personnel to ensure that the correct draft picks were going to be made and the necessary players were being evaluated.

On Sunday, the Texas Outlaws and the rest of the U.S. MASL teams made their 2023-2024 draft selections.

Representing the Outlaws at the MASL Draft was Namdar and, “due to the amazing amount of preparation by our coaching staff, I was very confident in our selections, and everything worked very smoothly,” said Namdar.

The Texas Outlaws selected the following players in the MASL 2023-2024 Draft (3 Rounds Total) Round 1: Marco Jacques, San Francisco, California (MID); Round 2: Juan Martinez, Arlington, Texas (MID); Round 3: Dylan Huynh, Grand Prairie, Texas (DEF). The Texas Outlaws draft picks will be invited to the Outlaws pre-season camp to compete, train, and earn a spot for the upcoming season.
