TEXAS OUTLAWS STRIKE A WIN AGAINST THE EMPIRE STRYKERS
MESQUITE, Texas (January 9, 2024) – Texas Outlaws won 10-5 against the Empire Strykers at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The Outlaws are now 5-2-1, with a 4-game winning streak, and the Strykers are 2-6-0.
The game in Ontario started with a goal from the Strykers in the third minute of the game, scored by Stefan Mijatovic, assisted by Strykers captain, Israel Sesay. David Ortiz tied it up for the Outlaws in the 5th minute, unassisted. Uzi Tayou, former Stryker and now Outlaws, scored against his former team in the 8th minute of the first quarter, his third goal of the season, the assist by Luiz Morales. David Ortiz got his second goal of the night in the 14th minute of the quarter, once again unassisted, ending the quarter with the Outlaws up 3-1. In the second quarter, Justin Stinson of the Strykers received a blue card for boarding, but ultimately the penalty was killed successfully by the Strykers. In the 6th minute, newly added star Marco Fabian scored for the Strykers, assisted by his former Chivas teammate and newly signed Stryker, Miguel Ponce. Another goal was scored for the Strykers in the 8th minute, scored by Justin Stinson, with an assist from Alan Perez. Luiz Morales got his first goal of the night for the Outlaws in the 8th minute of the second quarter, his 17th goal so far this season, putting the Outlaws back on top 4-3. Sebastian Mendez scored for the Outlaws in the 9th minute, getting the tap in from Erik Macias. The Strykers scored in the 11th minute of the quarter with a goal from Harold Hanson, assisted by Marco Fabian. IN the 12th minute, Stefan Mijatovic received a blue card for contact above the shoulder/elbow, but the penalty was once again killed by the Strykers. The first half ending with the Outlaws up 5-4.
Jorge Deleon scored first in the 3rd quarter, with a goal for the Outlaws in the 7th minute. Outlaws scored again going into the 9th minute, with a second goal from Luiz Morales, adding another point to his already boisterous resume. A 3rd straight goal was scored for the Outlaws in the 11th minute of the quarter, scored by Erik Macias, assisted by David Ortiz. Outlaws up 8-4 going into the final quarter. The Outlaws once again scored in the 4th quarter, goal scored by Emmanuel Aguirre, assisted by Jorge Deleon. The Strykers pulled goalie Brandon Gomez in the 5th minute, giving David Ortiz a chance to score a hattrick during an empty net. The final goal of the game was scored for the Strykers by Alan Perez, but the Strykers could not make a comeback. Outlaws winning 10-5.
