OUTLAWS WIN FIRST GAME OF THE 2023-2024 SEASON

MESQUITE, Texas (December2, 2023) – Texas Outlaws win 9-5 against the Baltimore Blast in Towson, Maryland. This was Outlaws’ first game of the 2023-2024 MASL season.

 

The first quarter scoring started with a goal in the 3rd minute of the match from Sebastian Mendez and an assist from Cody Ellis, giving the Outlaws an early lead. The Blast got their first goal of the game in the 4th minute, with Josh Hughes tying it up. In the 11th minute, the Blast scored again with a goal from Mike Deasel. Outlaws down 2-1 going into the second quarter. Victor Parreiras scored in the second minute for the Blast, giving them a 2-goal lead. The Outlaws answered in the 7th minute, with Luiz Morales scoring a goal, with an assist from Mendez. Going into the 10th minute, Vini Dantas for the Outlaws was issued a blue card for holding. This penalty gave Ricardinho Sobreira a powerplay goal for the Blast. The Outlaws ended the first half down 2-4 to the Blast.  

 

 

In the third quarter, Mendez got his second goal of the night for the Outlaws, with an assist from Axel Chakounte in the first minute. Morales scored his second of the game in the 10th minute, with an assist from Emmanuel Aguirre, tying the game at 4-4. In the 11th minute of the quarter, Jamie Thomas of the Blast was issued a blue card, putting the Outlaws into the power play. The Outlaws then scored a power play goal, giving Morales his third of the night. Outlaws ended the third quarter up, 5-4. In the fourth quarter, Stephen Gonzales got his first goal of the season for the Outlaws in the 6th minute. The Outlaws continued to score less than a minute later with a goal from Andy Reyes, making it 7-4 Outlaws. With a 4th unanswered goal, Mendez joined Morales with a hattrick in the 11th minute. Parreiras, hoping to keep the Blast alive, scored ten seconds later. The Outlaws ultimately scored one more time, with David Ortiz scoring an empty netter goal, Outlaws winning 9-5. Outlaws outshot the Blast 32-26. 

 

The Outlaws will play Chihuahua Savage on Thursday, December 7th, at Corner Sport Arena, at 8 pm CDT. Tune into the game live on Twitch (twitch.tv/masl_soccer).

 

Texas Outlaws will be taking on the Kansas City Comets at Mesquite Arena for their home opener on December 16. Kick off will be at 7:05 pm CDT. Tickets are on sale NOW!
