MESQUITE OUTLAWS REDEEM THEMSELVES AGAINST SAN DIEGO 5-3

MESQUITE, Texas (Feb. 21, 2020) –The Mesquite Outlaws redeem themselves against the San Diego Sockers, 5-3. Attendance at the game was 1,279.


It was a slow started in the first quarter, Mesquite Outlaws defender Josemaria Oteze knocking in the first goal of the night. A blue card was issued to Outlaws forward VcMor Eligwe in the first quarter for boarding. San Diego Sockers forward Kraig Chiles scored in the second quarter. The Outlaws scored twice in the second quarter, first by defender Cody Ellis followed by midfielder Omar Tapia.


The Outlaws started the second half of the match scoring one goal in the third quarter by forward Anthony Powell. Followed by another goal in the fourth quarter by midfielder Jorge Deleon. San Diego midfielder Travis Pittman was issued a blue card in the fourth quarter for contact above the shoulder/elbow. San Diego forward Leonardo De Oliveira scored in the fourth quarter.


All three stars were awarded to the Mesquite Outlaws, 1st star to Josemaria Oteze, 2nd star to Cody Ellis and 3rd star to Omar Tapia.


The Outlaws next home game is Youth Soccer Night first 500 kids 16 and under will receive a free Hummel mini ball. Match starts at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Mesquite Arena, 1818 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite, TX, against the Monterrey Flash. Tickets are available at mesquiteoutlaws.com.
