MESQUITE, Texas (Jan. 4, 2020) – The Mesquite Outlaws lost a hard-fought battle against the Tacoma Stars, 5-8. Two goals scored in less than 30 seconds late in the fourth period weren’t enough for the Outlaws to win. Attendance at the game was 1,783.

The assist came on a goal scored by midfielder Oscar Romero, in only his second game in an Outlaws jersey.

In the third period, Romero scored another goal, this one assisted by forward VcMor Eligwe. It was followed by a third goal from the Stars’ Perera, and another by midfielder Jamael Cox. Then came two goals in 29 seconds from the Outlaws: The first by forward Bradlee Baladez, assisted by defender Rio Ramirez, and the next by Powell. The Outlaws pulled goalie Eduardo “Pollo” Cortes and put in sixth attacker Cody Ellis, but couldn’t score again. The period ended after an empty-net goal by Stars defender Alex Casares.
