Mesquite Native Erik Macias Signs with Mesquite Outlaws

Erik Macias signs with the Mesquite Outlaws for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Macias is a midfielder from Mesquite, Texas. He grew up playing soccer for teams in the Dallas area, such as Barcelona 97.

Macias attended Mesquite Horn High School and then attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler. At UT Tyler, Macias played a total of 46 games, 7 goals, and had a total of 57 shots in three seasons from 2016 to 2018. At UT Tyler, Macias received First Team All-Conference, 3^rd Team All Region, and ACC Tournament Team Best 11.

Macias has also played for teams such as D’Feeters Kicks Soccer Club in the United Premier Soccer League.

The 2022-2023 season will be Macias’s second season in the Major Arena Soccer League, and his first with the Mesquite Outlaws. During the 2021-2022 season, Macias played in 13 regular season games. In those regular season games, he scored 3 goals, had 5 assists, and had 15 shots.

When asked about signing, Macias commented, “I am blessed to sign for Mesquite Outlaws and represent the team from my hometown.”

“The goal is to make history and bring a championship to Mesquite.”
