The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the December Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month winners. John Sosa of the Kansas City Comets earned the offensive honors while Pollo Cortes of the Mesquite Outlaws won the defensive.

Sosa, a registered defender for the Comets took home the offensive honors after five goals and 11 assists. Two of those goals were on the power play and one was a game-winning goal. He also registered 17 blocks through the month. Sosa currently leads the league in both assists and points.

Leading the league in wins is the December Defensive Player of the Month Cortes. The goalkeeper’s record stands at 5-1-0 to start the 2022-23 season and he has a goals allowed average of 4.19 with 88 saves. His save percentage is second in the league at .786 trailing only Diego Reynoso of Monterrey.
